The Iowa Department of Transportation has proposed improvement on South Ankeny Boulevard from Southeast Peterson Drive to First Street in Ankeny, with work planned for 2026.

The IDOT is seeking public input on the proposed project, which will include widening the roadway, replacing traffic signals at First and Third streets and adding turn lanes and safety improvements, according to a release.

Work is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 and be complete by the end of fall 2026. At least one lane in each direction will remain open during construction.

Input is being accepted online. The deadline to submit input is Sept. 6.
