WHY

Kelly Eagle is marketing director for Des Moines-based LS2group. According to those who nominated Eagle, she “embraces opportunity, and truly believes each step in (a woman’s) career, whether forward, backward or sideways, is an opportunity.”

Eagle’s career has given her a perspective often overlooked by others. She believes young professionals should embrace the fact that careers typically come with a few unexpected bumps in the road. These are not setbacks; rather, they are opportunities to add new skills to the toolbox.

WHERE SHE’S BEEN

Eagle started her career in magazine publishing. After the downturn of the magazine industry, Kelly worked for a startup developing a custom app and website where she explored the more technical side of the industry. She also worked as a digital editor for a national publication, giving her the opportunity to further hone her writing skills and gain an expanded understanding of SEO and content management and targeting.
In 2014, Kelly brought her experience to LS2group, where she leads the firm’s marketing department.

CONNECTION POINTS

The foundation for Eagle’s strength as a leader comes from her well-rounded work and volunteering portfolio. For the past five years, she has served on the Waukee Public Library board of directors. She is a volunteer coach for a girl’s softball team, and also donates her time to Variety — the Children’s Charity.
