Two films, “Sam Steele & the Junior Detective Agency” and “Ash,” have received tax credits through the Iowa Film, Television and Video Promotion Program. These are the first two films that have successfully been awarded credits from the Iowa Department of Economic Development for tax credit awards prior to the suspension of the film program in September 2009. Currently the program is suspended until July 1, 2013, pursuant to Senate File 2380 and is not accepting new applications for film projects at this time. The Iowa Film Office remains operational to coordinate those already-approved projects that choose to move forward and also provide information on resources available for the film industry, including an online production guide and image library, available at www.iowalifechanging.com/film.
