Kalpesh Patel, principal at VKB Management, has joined the board of directors of the Iowa Hotel & Lodging Association, the group announced. The nonprofit trade association was formed in early 2022 to promote, educate and advocate on behalf of the state’s more than 700 lodging establishments. In February, Faith Dorn was named the group’s director. Patel, whose family-owned company operates 17 hotels in Iowa, is one of six members of the association’s board of directors. Others include board Chairman Paul Rottenberg of Orchestrate Hospitality in Des Moines, Vice Chair Ravie Patel of Hawkeye Hotels in Coralville, and directors Angela Harrington of Hotel Grinnell in Grinnell, Scott Math of Heart of America Group in Des Moines and Ben Kinseth of Kinseth Hospitality Cos. in Coralville.
