Iowa Latino Restaurant Week to offer special deals

143 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, Retail and BusinessTwo dozen local restaurants are offering special deals for 11 days to mark the inaugural Iowa Latino Restaurant Week as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. From Sept. 11 to 21, the restaurants will offer pre fixe menus with two-course lunches at two for $25 and three-course dinners at two for $50, according to an Iowa Latino Hospitality Council news release. “Iowa Latino Restaurant Week is not just about enjoying great food at a great price; it’s about celebrating our culture and supporting our community,” said Gloria Henriquez, president of the nonprofit Iowa Latino Hospitality Council and owner/operator of Tullpa Restaurant in Des Moines, in a prepared statement. Featured will be favorites from seven culinary regions of Mexico as well as from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru, Puerto Rico and more.
