The Iowa Medical Society has announced the honorees of its newly created Five Iowa Physicians to Watch award. Winners are chosen by IMS’s Leadership Development Committee. This year’s honorees are Muhammad Ajmal, an interventional cardiologist, and Maria Story, a nephrologist, both at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington; Christopher Kim, an orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgeon at the Iowa Clinic in West Des Moines; Yogesh Shah, the medical director at Broadlawns Memory Center in Des Moines; and Angie Wild, from the University of Iowa Department of Emergency Medicine in Iowa City. The award recipients will be recognized Friday, May 2 at Hancher Auditorium as part of IMS’s 175th Anniversary Celebration and President’s Dinner.
