Iowa State University’s College of Design was approved for $50,000 in funds to purchase a robotic arm for the Department of Architecture, reports the Ames Tribune. The new robotic arm will be stored in the ISU Computation and Construction Lab until the ISU Student Innovation Center opens, when it will be moved to the College of Design’s studio space in the new building. The arm will be used to print and carve a range of materials; an Introduction to Architectural Robotics class could begin next fall.
