The Iowa State University Alumni Association held its Honor & Awards Ceremony on Friday to honor the achievements of its alumni. The Alumni Medal, an award honoring long service to the university through alumni-related activities, was awarded this year to Denise Irene Essman and Thomas A. Connop. Essman is the retired president and CEO of Essman Research. She graduated from Iowa State in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial administration. Connop is a retired partner of Locke Lorde who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1976. Each academic college and the ISU Memorial Union were invited to honor alumni during the event.
