135 wordsAll Latest News, Education, Energy, Iowa Stops HungerThe Iowa State University Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Ivy College of Business and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will host the second annual Food Insecurity Challenge for students. The event will begin with the Hunger Banquet at 5 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Memorial Union in Ames, where a local food insecurity expert will discuss issues of local and global food poverty. Participants will then form small teams to begin brainstorming solutions to the issues presented. Teams will have two weeks to develop solutions that they will pitch to a panel of judges on Nov. 6. Cash prizes will be split among three teams with the best ideas to address global or local food poverty, with first place receiving $5,000, second place $2,500 and third place $1,500.
