Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business and McFarland Clinic in Ames have signed an agreement to help students combine their interests in business and health care and create opportunities for paid health care management internships during college. It is the college’s third partnership of this nature, in addition to ones with Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames and UnityPoint Health – Des Moines. Iowa State launched its undergraduate major in health care management in 2022 to meet the needs of students who are interested in both business and health care, according to a news release. The program will have 96 students as it enters its third year. “Along with the growing need for health care services in our communities, the need for great leaders in health care administration continues to grow as well. Offering an internship opportunity will help shape the health care leaders of tomorrow,” McFarland Chief Operating Officer Jenni Talbott said in a prepared statement.
