A new partnership between Iowa State’s Ivy College of Business and UnityPoint Health in Des Moines will provide more options for business students who are looking for real-world experience in health care management. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding, effective Aug. 1, to help students combine their interests in business and health care, as well as open the door to paid health care management internships during college. The partnership is the second with an area hospital for the college, which announced a partnership with Mary Greeley Medical Center in March that allows business students to participate in health care management internships at a nationally ranked, high-performing hospital without leaving Ames. “While we don’t have a medical school or hospital on campus, we are collaborating with outstanding hospitals with nationwide reputations for providing high-quality, cost-effective health care services located in Ames and Des Moines,” the release said.
