Bravo Greater Des Moines will recognize Jim and Allison Fleming as the Bravo Award recipients at its awards gala on Feb. 8 at the EMC Expo Center. The award recognizes a person, family or foundation whose commitment to arts, culture and heritage has benefited Greater Des Moines. The Flemings have supported various cultural organizations including Blank Park Zoo, Des Moines Community Playhouse, Mainframe Studios, Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Hoyt Sherman Place and the Science Center of Iowa, according to a news release. Allison Fleming also helped establish the Child Abuse Prevention Council, in addition to serving on Iowa’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Council and the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines board of directors for 20 years.
