KCCI anchorman Kevin Cooney, 63, will retire Nov. 24 after 33 years in the job.

KCCI anchorman Kevin Cooney, 63, will retire Nov. 24 after 33 years in the job. He will be replaced by colleague Steve Karlin. A Des Moines Register profile of Cooney notes that he joined the Channel 8 anchor desk in 1982, delivering the news alongside the station’s two anchor stalwarts, Paul Rhoades and Russ Van Dyke. Read more.
