Kent Pet Group, a subsidiary of the family-owned Kent Corp., has announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant in Muscatine. The company, which sells its sustainable pet products around the world under the brands of World’s Best Cat Litter, Breeders Choice, and Back-2-Nature, will break ground on the 113,000-square-foot facility this summer. The plant will be located on 70 acres of land adjacent to the Kent Distribution Center and will feature state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, research and development, and room for future growth plans. The Iowa Economic Development Authority and the city of Muscatine are supporting the project. Kent Corp. is a diversified, family-owned company headquartered in Muscatine, with operating subsidiaries involved in corn wet milling, animal feeds, and the manufacture of food, beverage and pet products.
