Kramer to hold book release event
Former Iowa state senator and retired ambassador Mary Kramer will release her new book, “More Than a Walk on the Beach: Confessions of an Unlikely Diplomat,” on Jan. 14 at the West Des Moines city council chambers, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway. Autographed copies of the book, which centers on Kramer’s experience of being a U.S. ambassador to Barbados and Eastern Caribbean, will be available at the event. It runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and will include light snacks and beverages.
