Construction is underway on Kreg Enterprises Inc.’s new headquarters in Ankeny, with completion expected by fall 2021, company officials said. An official groundbreaking was held two weeks ago on 25 acres near Southeast 77th Street and Southeast Crosswinds Drive, east of Interstate 35 in the Crosswinds Business Park. The company, commonly called Kreg Tool, announced in July 2018 that it would be moving from its campus in Huxley, where it has been since 1992. The new facility is planned to be 150,000 square feet, including 50,000 square feet of office space. The company employs about 230 people. As part of the project, it plans to create at least 20 jobs that would pay $30.32 per hour. Kreg received tax incentives as part of Iowa’s High Quality Jobs Program, and a five-year, 100% tax increment finance package valued at $1.2 million through the city of Ankeny. Kreg makes woodworking tools, such as jigs, clamps, and cutting and routing tools.
