Lashier Group, which owns Lashier Graphics and Signs in Grimes, announced it has acquired the Des Moines-based window film and tint company Solar Solutions. Founded in 2000, Solar Solutions provides five categories of products: solar, decorative, privacy, security and smart films. According to a news release, security films, which offer intruder-resistant protection to standard window and door glass, and circuited privacy films that can turn on and off are products currently gaining traction. Solar Solutions designs its products to help control temperature and glare, increase energy efficiency and decrease the need for recurring maintenance, the release said. “We recognize the demand for window film and tint because of our graphics business, so we’re excited for the opportunities this acquisition presents,” Andy Lashier, Lashier Group co-owner and chief financial officer, said in a prepared statement. “We’re also dedicated to upholding the strong reputation and high-quality craftsmanship Solar Solutions is known for, as we look to expand their current reach.”
