Cynthia Latcham, Anawim Housing’s president, is leaving the organization at the end of September, the group announced.  Latcham started at Anawim 12 years ago as a program director. She became the group’s executive director in 2020 and was named president in May 2023. She has advanced Anawim’s mission of creating safe, stable and affordable housing for the community’s most vulnerable residents, according to a news release. Under Latcham’s leadership, Anawim has converted a former hotel into the Monarch Apartments, added 40 units of permanent supportive housing and has been awarded over $7 million in funding to complete capital improvements for existing housing. The nonprofit group is Iowa’s largest provider of permanent supportive housing.  Anawim Housing’s board of directors has begun a search for a new CEO and president.
