The Technology Association of Iowa is postponing the annual Prometheus Awards. The award ceremony is now scheduled for June 23. Refund requests will be accepted until May 21. Ticket holders with questions may contact TAI at 515-280-7701. 


Performances and classes at the Des Moines Community Playhouse are taking place as scheduled, the organization announced today. 


The Des Moines Public Library system is removing all toys, Lego blocks, board games, plush animals and other interactive children’s materials from public floors in each building. Library programs that rely on these shared children’s materials will be canceled, but most public programming is not affected; more information on which programs are canceled is available on the public calendar. The Des Moines Public Library will host a special coronavirus informational program on March 19 at Central Library with the Polk County Health Department. There have been no cancelations or postponements of large events scheduled to be hosted in Greater Des Moines, Catch Des Moines announced this week. The tourism board noted that there has been no official guidance from federal authorities or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that travel plans within the U.S. should be curtailed or canceled.
