Latham Hi-Tech Seeds announced that Ryan Schon of Ankeny has joined the company as general manager. He most recently was senior corporate development manager for Granular Inc., a San Francisco-based farm management software company owned by DuPont, and led the post-acquisition integration of Granular with Encirca. John Latham, president of the third-generation family-owned company, said Schon’s background in agronomy, marketing and precision agriculture, combined with his education and experience, will help his company gain greater efficiencies. Schon grew up in Glidden, Iowa, where his family owned a lumber and construction business. His grandparents also farmed in Carroll County. Before working for DuPont Pioneer, Schon was a business development manager and traits marketing lead with Monsanto. He has a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Iowa State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Lindenwood University.
