The floods and storms of 2008 had little impact on the state economy, two Iowa State University economists said in a report. A diverse economy, federal disaster relief and crop insurance played a role in mitigating the financial impact of flooding, according to Dave Swenson and Liesl Eathington, the ISU researchers who conducted the study. “We took a licking and kept on ticking,” Swenson said in a news release.
