Lumley named Iowa Insurance Institute executive director
The Iowa Insurance Institute has announced Brittany Lumley as its new executive director, replacing Brenna Bird, who was elected in 2022 to serve as Iowa’s attorney general. Bird had led the institute since 2016. “We would like to thank Brenna for her years of dedicated service leading the Iowa Insurance Institute,” Aaron Pearce, president of III, said in a news release. “We look forward to working closely with Brittany to highlight the important role the property and casualty insurance industry plays in our state.” The not-for-profit organization provides its property and casualty insurer members with information regarding legislative and regulatory developments in Iowa and to monitor and introduce legislation in the property and casualty insurance industry. Lumley has led government affairs efforts on behalf of III for the last five years, the release said. She graduated from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business and earned her law degree from Drake Law School.
