Make-A-Wish Iowa celebrates 35 years, raises $460,000 plus at gala
Make-A-Wish Iowa held the Des Moines Gala on May 7 to celebrate its 35th anniversary with more than 700 attendees. More than $460,000 was raised during the event to support granting wishes to Iowa children with critical illnesses, a record-breaking amount for the organization. “There was magic and urgency in the air,” said Sara Kurovski, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Iowa. “COVID has created the longest waitlist in the history of our chapter with 373 children waiting for their life-changing wish. The incredible support from community leaders will help us continue to grant wishes at an urgent pace.” The organization also recently released the 2022 Wish Impact Study.
