Mashek to lead Cowles Montessori
Elizabeth Mashek, a 10-year employee of the Des Moines Independent Community School District, has been appointed as the new principal of Cowles Montessori School. Mashek, a former dean of students at two Des Moines elementary schools, currently serves as the school improvement leader at Callanan Middle School. Cowles, which is Iowa’s only public Montessori school, serves nearly 350 students from preschool through eighth grade.
