David Maxwell, president of Drake University, received a Chief Executive Leader Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, a professional association that includes more than 3,400 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and nonprofit organizations. Under the leadership of Maxwell, who this week accepted the award during a conference in Kansas City, Drake has undertaken major capital improvement projects, exceeded enrollment goals and produced more student and faculty Fulbright Scholars than 525 of 526 other master’s universities in the United States, according to a press release. Drake is in CASE District VI, which includes eight Midwestern states and about 200 institutions of higher learning.
