Mayberry-Mayes named executive director of Grand View’s Jacobson Institute

Mayberry-Mayes most recently served as senior strategist of the Principal Foundation and community relations at Principal Financial Group. He is also a lecturer in the Professional Readiness Program at the University of Northern Iowa’s David W. Wilson College of Business. Before working at Principal, Mayberry-Mayes supported customer strategy and engagement at Nationwide Insurance and was a senior credit analyst at Bankers Trust. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Business Administration degree from Iowa State University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Drake University. “We are thrilled to have Skylar join the Jacobson Institute,” Grand View President Rachelle Keck said in a press release. “His wealth of experience, his professional connections and his passion for the intersection of business and education are the perfect fit for the JI and our university vision for the future.” Established in 2008 with a gift from the late Dick Jacobson, the Jacobson Institute aims to make Grand View a resource to the Central Iowa region by innovating through education and providing workforce skills assessment and training.
