The award was presented during a ceremony Thursday evening, where the United Way also celebrated the more than $6.9 million raised in 2021 by 436 Central Iowa Tocqueville Society members who annually invest $10,000 or more to foster a thriving community through United Way of Central Iowa. The McCullohs have been involved with the United Way of Central Iowa at the Tocqueville Society membership level since 2013, and have been giving to the United Way since 2004. According to a news release, their family has been actively engaged, advocating for early childhood success as Women United members and volunteering on different committees and cabinets. In a news release, the McCullohs said their involvement allows their family to help lift up the entire community. “Caring for our community is a shared responsibility, and we are committed to doing our part,” Jess McCulloh said in the release. In addition to their work with the United Way, Jess McCulloh is a senior resources consultant at Wells Fargo. Tim McCulloh is a surety bond executive at Holmes Murphy & Associates. Steve Chapman, past United Way of Central Iowa board chair, campaign chair, and Tocqueville Society Award recipient, called the McCullohs “incredible champions for central Iowans.” Mary Sellers, president of the United Way of Central Iowa, said the McCullohs are serving the region in “powerful ways.” “The results we’ve seen under their guidance are incredible and the scope of the positive change they’ve created is inspiring.”
