McDonald’s buys land in Waukee for new restaurant

McDonald’s Real Estate Co., based in Chicago, has purchased 1.5 acres in Waukee’s KeeTown Loop commercial district on the northwest corner of Grand Prairie Parkway and Ashworth Road, Dallas County real estate records show.

The fast-food company plans on building a 4,455-square-foot restaurant at 2820 Grand Prairie Pkwy near where a Live Nation entertainment venue is under construction. The new McDonald’s will be the second in Waukee.

McDonald’s paid the Quarter at Waukee LLC $1.47 million for the parcel, records show. The Waukee City Council in May approved a site plan for a proposed project, which will include 50 parking spaces.

In other transactions:

Legacy Partners LLC, located in West Des Moines, paid Hurd Parkway LLC $1.25 million for property at 8080 Coachlight Drive in West Des Moines, records show. The 3-acre parcel is undeveloped. The transaction was recorded July 10.

Kading Inc., based in Casey, Iowa, paid Daniel Cramer and Teresa Cramer $1.3 million for nearly 85 acres in rural Dallas County, records show. The farm ground is generally northwest of DeSoto with Maple Ridge bordering the property’s northern border. The transaction was recorded July 13.

Polk County

The Connie Wimer Revocable Trust paid Galligan & Reid PC $475,000 for commercial space at the Plaza, 300 Walnut St. in Des Moines, Polk County records show. Business Publications Corp., which publishes the Business Record, dsm magazine and other related products, will move into the space in late fall. Wimer, the company’s founder and chairman, plans on selling the Depot at 100 Fourth St., where Business Publications is now located. The transaction between Wimer and Galligan & Reid was recorded June 29.

Riverview Parking LLC, located in Des Moines, has acquired property at 200, 210 and 216 E. Court Ave. in Des Moines, records show. The properties include surface parking and a building for an auto service business. Riverview Parking paid 216 E. Court LLC $800,000 for the parcel at 216 E. Court Ave.; it paid 217 E. Second LC for the other two lots. The transactions were recorded June 26 and June 27.

GLC DCI Land LLC, based in Granger, Indiana, paid Stan Webb and Mary Webb $2.1 million for property at Cotton Avenue N.W. and Sixth Street N.W. in Mitchellville, records show. The 35-acre parcel is mostly farm ground. The transaction was recorded July 11.

Dynamite Ventures LLC, located in Pella, paid Garden Essential Inc. $2.1 million for property at 1951 N. James St. in Grimes, records show. The property includes a three-story, 20,886-square-foot apartment building constructed in 2014. The building includes 18 units. The property is valued at $2.1 million. The transaction was recorded July 13.
