Des Moines Performing Arts has announced that Tim McMillin will join the nonprofit as director of development starting in mid-October. Most recently, McMillin served as the director of advancement at the Des Moines Metro Opera. He is a certified fundraising executive who earned his doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from Michigan State University. McMillin is from Elkader and graduated from Simpson College. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Central Iowa Chapter. He is also an active member of the Mid-Iowa Planned Giving Council and American Choral Directors Association and is the artistic director for the Des Moines Vocal Arts Ensemble.
