Melissa Vine, the former executive director at the Beacon, has been hired as the vice president of business development and chief legal officer at Queck Capital Management, a Des Moines-based real estate and finance company. The Beacon announced in September it was starting its search for a new director. According to a press release, while at the Beacon, Vine doubled revenue, client success rates, staff and affordable supportive housing units for women coming out of trauma. Vine holds a law degree from Drake University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. “I am excited about synthesizing the needs expressed in both the nonprofit and for-profit spaces in order to maximize economic development and social support for our community,” Vine said in a prepared statement.
