Mendenhall-Core hired as advancement director for Anawim Housing

206 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, On the MoveAnawim Housing, the largest provider of permanent supportive housing in Iowa, has named Mary Mendenhall-Core as its new director of advancement. “We’re thrilled to have talent of Mary’s caliber as we grow our community advancement efforts,” said Russ Frazier, president of Anawim Housing. “With an extensive network and knowledge of the Iowa nonprofit landscape, we’ll rely on her skills, creativity and network to cultivate and build connections with individual donors, corporate, and community partners.” Mendenhall-Core will also serve on the nonprofit’s leadership team. She most recently was regional director with Pinky Swear Foundation, and has held development roles with Iowa Association of Business and Industry and Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa. Her extensive background in volunteering includes recognition as volunteer of the year for several organizations, in addition to board service and chairing events. Anawim Housing provides permanent supportive housing programs that assist individuals and families who have experienced a housing crisis and live with a mental illness, a substance use disorder, a physical disability, or a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS. Mendenhall-Core succeeds Hannah Landgraf, who after three years at Anawim Housing decided to focus her skills and passion back into direct care and now works as a program manager for Anawim Housing, a spokeswoman said.
