Merchants Bonding event provides three accessible vans for Easterseals Iowa
The Merchants Bonding Co. Foundation had hoped its annual golf tournament would raise enough money to purchase two accessible vans for Easterseals Iowa. However, organizers of the Bill Warner Sr. Memorial Charity Golf Tournament exceeded the initial goal and raised $158,000, enough to buy three new vans. The event received support from 200 golfers, 63 corporate sponsors and generous donors from across the country. “Transportation is a key component to the independence of our clients,” Easterseals Iowa President and CEO Sherri Nielsen said. “These accessible vans ensure our clients have access to the community, health care, community spaces, shopping and social experiences that increase quality of life.” The vans were dedicated on Sept. 20 at a ceremony at Merchants Bonding Co.’s headquarters in West Des Moines.
