Merchants Bonding Company Foundation announced yesterday that it raised $70,240 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

The fund-raising effort was the result of the Sept. 27 Bill Warner Sr. Memorial Charity Golf Classic at the Wakonda Club. “The overall response was humbling and flattering,” Merchants President Larry Taylor said in a company news release.

By donating more than $50,000 to the LLS, Merchants will be able to name a research grant for the society, which it will do in former company President Bill Warner Sr.’s name.
