The Midland Building at 206 Sixth Ave. in downtown Des Moines sold July 28 for $2.1 million. The deed was recorded today. According to Polk County land records, Jeff and Kim Young’s We Can Build It LC sold the building to a Davenport entity called Des Moines Midland Building LLC. Quad-City businessman John Bradley signed two mortgages with First State Bank of Illinois in Bettendorf.  Des Moines Building LLC lists a home office at an entity controlled by officers of the Lane & Waterman law firm. The Young’s bought the building for $1 million in 2013 from Community State Bank, which took possession of the property after the death in July 2008 of businessman Ed Boesen. The building has been undergoing a renovation. When the Young’s bought it, the 102-year-old structure was valued at $100. The building has a current assessed value of a little more than $19,100. The land it sits on is valued at $854,900.
