MidWestOne Financial Group hires 3 executive leaders

MidWestOne Financial Group, parent company of Iowa City-based MidWestOne Bank, has hired three new executive leaders: Paul Ho-Sing-Loy, executive vice president and chief information officer; Steve Heimermann, executive vice president and head of wealth management; and Elda Macias, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. The company has introduced a new strategic plan emphasizing expertise, customer experience and deep relationships, and the new hires will help MidWestOne reach the objectives, according to a news release. “These leaders come at a time of significant transformation for the company,” said Chip Reeves, MidWestOne’s CEO, in a prepared statement. “We are accelerating the pace of innovation and performance accountability, and as a result, attracting incredible talent to help us deliver on our strategic plan. We are uniquely positioned to become the bank of choice for small-to mid-sized businesses and their owners, and these new hires will help us tell that story and deliver an exceptional customer and employee experience.” Additional information about the new executives includes:

  • Ho-Sing-Loy previously served as executive vice president and chief information officer at New Jersey-based Lakeland Bank where he focused on digital strategies, cybersecurity initiatives, and devised the technology roadmap that assisted Lakeland in scaling from $5 billion in assets to $11 billion. Ho-Sing-Loy received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
  • Heimermann previously served as senior vice president and regional senior investment officer at Chicago-based Northern Trust Corp. where he oversaw investment teams in six Midwest markets, and served as portfolio manager for high-net-worth clients. Heimermann received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Heimermann works out of MidWestOne’s office in Golden Valley, Minn.
  • Macias previously worked at St. Paul, Minn.-based Securian Financial, where she developed and led a customer experience strategy and practice, with a focus on digital transformation, in addition to responsibility for the U.S and Canadian websites, customer insights, and user experience. Macias received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. Macias works out of MidWestOne’s Golden Valley office.
