Millennials plan bar from their grandparents’ era in R&T lobby
Three young entrepreneurs plan to convert the old Register and Tribune building lobby at 715 Locust St. into a cocktail lounge reminiscent of the “Mad Men” era, reports The Des Moines Register. Nick Tillinghast, 28, and Kyle McClain, 28, formed DMDT Hospitality & Lifestyle and then partnered with Ryan Hutchison, 35, to create Hello, Marjorie, a classics forward cocktail lounge opening in December. Tillinghast, a Des Moines native who moved back after a stint in public relations and hospitality in Las Vegas, named the bar for his grandmother.
