Anawim Housing is set to break ground on a multifamily housing project Thursday near the intersection of Forest Avenue and 23rd Street in Des Moines. The 16-unit building is part of a collaborative effort by Anawim, the city of Des Moines, Hubbell Realty Co. and the Polk County Housing Trust Fund to revitalize Forest Avenue. Since its inception, Anawim has spent more than $12 million developing more than 220 affordable rental-housing units. The groundbreaking is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m.
