More than $6M awarded for rail infrastructure projects
The Iowa Transportation Commission has approved more than $6 million for six rail infrastructure projects using funding from the Railroad Revolving Loan and Grant Program. According to a news release, the projects are expected to create and retain 109 jobs within three years of completion. Among projects to receive funding are:
- A soybean crush plant in Alta — a $2 million loan and a $612,000 grant.
- Floyd Valley Transload in Woodbury County — a $664,800 loan and a $120,000 grant.
- IceCap Cold Storage in Pottawattamie County — a $503,315 loan and a $576,000 grant.
