Nearly every U.S. city’s economy is expected to grow this year according to a report released by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Bloomberg reported. All but seven of 363 metropolitan areas will see economic gains, said the report, which was prepared by IHS Global Insight, an economic analysis company. About one-fourth of metro areas contracted in 2013. According to the report, Des Moines-West Des Moines is expected to have a 2.1 percent growth in Gross Metropolitan Product in 2014, compared with a growth of 2.7 percent in 2013. Ames is projected to have a growth of 3.9 percent after a 3 percent gain in 2013.
