MPO asks for feedback on TIP grant
The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is asking for comments on an amendment on a federal grant to install traffic adaptive control signals at 13 existing stoplights along Mills Civic Parkway in West Des Moines.
The project, which has been approved for $353,600 by the MPO, was originally scheduled to receive the funding in federal fiscal year 2012, but the Iowa Department of Transportation has approved the request to be moved up to 2011.
The funding is part of the Federal Fiscal Years 2011-2014 Transportation Improvement Program, and the MPO will hold a public meeting to receive comments on the amendment at 6 p.m. on March 15 at the West Des Moines Public Library.
People who can’t attend the meeting are invited to call 334-0075 with questions or concerns.
