The Des Moines City Council last week approved the contract sale of a city-owned lot at 1704 South Union St. to the nonprofit development group for $145,560.
Neighborhood Development wants to package four lots that lie in the Two Rivers District redevelopment area. The city acquired the property as part of the Indianola Avenue Connector Project, according to a city staff report.
he purchase price will be paid over a three-year period, with a down payment of $50,000 due prior to Neighborhood Development’s possession of the property, and two additional payments of $50,000 and $45,560.
