Neighborhood Finance Corp., a nonprofit lender that aims to revitalize neighborhoods and expand homeownership opportunities in Polk County, will celebrate its 35th anniversary on Monday, June 2. A community celebration will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Des Moines’ Columbus Park, at 417 E. Granger Ave. The Columbus Park neighborhood is one of the first neighborhoods where NFC started lending in 1990. There will be tours of homes built by NFC Properties and ongoing neighborhood revitalization projects as well as a groundbreaking ceremony for three new homes. The event is free and open to the public. Guests may park at McKinley Elementary School at 1610 S.E. Sixth St.
