Des Moines-based general contractor Neumann Brothers has announced that it is now accepting applications for its Neumann Heart Fund. The employee-led charitable giving initiative will donate a total of $25,000 to nonprofit organizations in Iowa that provide direct support to military members, veterans and first responders; food poverty and hunger; and housing and homelessness. The Heart Fund is led by the company’s employees and focuses on issues that are meaningful to them, according to a release. The 2023 grant cycle will award $2,500 grants to 10 organizations, with submissions reviewed and selected by an internal committee of Neumann Brothers employees. Previous grantees are eligible for renewed funding.
