A new concept in “competitive socializing” is proposed in a development north of Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines.

Putts & Pins, a combination bar, restaurant and recreation facility with indoor miniature golf and duckpin bowling games, is planned in Jordan Creek Point, a commercial center under construction at 6920 E.P. True Parkway.

Putts & Pins, planned by Kann Realty, would be located in nearly 20,300 square feet of space, according to information provided to the West Des Moines’ Board of Adjustment. The business would span two buildings connected by a breezeway. A patio between the buildings would provide outdoor seating for guests, according to the information. A conditional use permit is required for the proposed miniature golf and bowling aspects of the business.

(The board meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the council chambers at City Hall, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway.)

“Putts & Pins is one of the new businesses filling the ‘competitive socializing’ landscape in the metro,” Lawrence Cunningham, director of business development for Keen Project Solutions, wrote in an email. Keen Project Solutions is working with Kann Realty on the project.

Dave & Buster’s, a popular arcade and sports bar chain, is building an entertainment venue on the south side of Jordan Creek Town Center. Spare Time Entertainment, which includes bowling and other entertainment as well as food and drinks, is located west of the mall at 340 Jordan Creek Parkway. Smash Park, which includes indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and other competitive games, is east of Jordan Creek at 6625 Coachlight Drive.

Putts & Pins is proposed to include 24 high-end miniature golf holes, all with the latest technology integrations, according to Cunningham. The facility also would include duckpin bowling and a full bar and restaurant.

Cunningham wrote that the concept is new locally and that “preparations [are] underway to franchise in the future.”

Jordan Creek Point is a commercial center under development by Accurate Development. Two building permits, each valued at $2.5 million, were issued for the project last May. Both phases of the development have 17,516 square feet of space, according to the permit information.

Putts & Pins, if all of the necessary city approvals are obtained, is slated to open this summer.
