Newsweek has announced its findings of the top 250 regional banks and the top 250 credit unions in the United States. Two Iowa-based regional banks earned a five-star rating: Manufacturers Bank & Trust Co in Forest City and Fidelity Bank & Trust in Dubuque. Three Iowa-based credit unions also earned perfect scores: Veridian in Waterloo, Dupaco Community Credit Union in Dubuque, and Community 1st Credit Union in Ottumwa. Nearly 10,000 institutions nationwide were ranked on the basis of overall health, risk exposure, profitability and stability, using data from 35,000 customer surveys, 1.3 million social media reviews and 148 million Apple App and Google Play store reviews.
