NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS: Casey’s buys Ankeny land for travel center

The following real estate transactions were recorded in Polk and Dallas counties between Nov. 9-13:
 
Casey’s Marketing Co. (the real estate arm of Casey’s General Store Inc.) paid Knapp Elwell LC $1.6 million for 13.6 acres at Southeast Corporate Woods Drive and Southeast Convenience Boulevard east of Interstate Highway 35 in Ankeny, records show. The convenience store chain plans to build a travel center on the site. The center would include a 7,770-square-foot convenience store, fuel stations and more than 40 parking spaces for semitrailer trucks, a site plan submitted to the city shows. The transaction was recorded on Nov. 9.

Village Green LLC, based in Waukee, paid TEJ Properties LLC $520,000 for property at 1042 18th St. (pictured) in Des Moines, records show. The property includes a three-story, nine-unit apartment building that was constructed in 1915. The property was valued at $203,000 in 2019, records show. The transaction was recorded on Nov. 9.

Hope K Farms LLC and Daniel Kargarzadeh paid Heritage at Grimes LLC $3 million for 21 residential lots in Grimes, records show. The lots are at 1900, 1904, 1908, 1912, 2000 and 2004 N.E. Park Drive; 600, 601, 701, 705, 709, 801, 805, 809, 813, 901, 905 and 909 N.E. 21st Court; and 700, 701 and 704 N.E. 22nd Court. The transaction was recorded on Nov. 9.

Scarlett & Co. LLC paid 6011 Grand LLC $470,000 for property at 6011 Grand Ave., records show. Taylor Boesen of White Willow Events plans on constructing a two-story, 7,000-square-foot event center on the parcel at 6011 and 6015 Grand Ave. The properties are owned by two separate entities. The transaction was recorded on Nov. 10.

Wilder Pines LLC paid Pines LLC $894,203 for property at 1000 S. 60th St. and 1100 S. 60th St. in West Des Moines, records show. The properties include about 10 acres that are heavily wooded. Wilder Pines is managed by Stanbrough Realty, records show. The transaction was recorded Nov. 10.

Shadow Creek Heights LLC paid Shadow Creek V LLC $1.5 million for undeveloped ground south of Meredith Drive and west of Northeast Alice’s Road in Clive, Dallas County real estate records show. The transaction was recorded on Nov. 13.
