Immanuel Communities, an Omaha-based organization that operates retirement and senior care housing facilities in Nebraska and Iowa, has acquired nearly 24 acres of undeveloped land in Pleasant Hill, Polk County real estate transactions show.

Immanuel paid Boulder Ridge LLC $2.36 million for the property located at 5905 Morning Star Court, records show.

Immanuel plans on expanding its senior housing options in Pleasant Hill, said Joe Brown, the organization’s senior vice president of marketing and sales experience. Immanuel owns and operates Copper Shores Village senior living facility at 1500 Edgewater Drive in Pleasant Hill.

The organization, which began in 1887 and has 1,700 employees, operates 18 independent living, assisted living, memory support and long-term care communities in Nebraska and Iowa. Immanuel also operates housing for people 55 and older.

“Immanuel is looking to expand their senior housing options,” Brown said.

The real estate transaction was recorded Nov. 19.
