A few weeks ago the Business Record hosted a video roundtable on tech and innovation.
We invited Jodi Jones of Source Allies, Mike Colwell of Square One DSM, Brian Waller of the Technology Association of Iowa and Geoff Wood of Gravitate down for the discussion. During the discussion, Waller raised an issue about the current global war for tech talent that the Technology Assocaition members are seeing every day.
Wood, in his weekly email, referenced Waller’s comments and wrote about his own recent confirmation of the ongoing talent war. Wood wrote that he had recently tweeted about an experienced software engineer friend of his who wanted to move to Central Iowa. The response, Wood said, was “immediate and almost overwhelming,” ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
His takeaway: “The message is clear: If you work in technology and want to be in Iowa, the timing has never been better.”
