NOTEBOOK – One Good Read: An experiment in outsourcing to Fiverr

I once listened to a song someone commissioned off of the digital outsourcing platform Fiverr, and it was fine. I don’t know anything about songwriting or playing guitar, but I thought the jingle was good enough that I’d listen to 20 seconds of it, and mediocre enough that I would turn the station if it continued. This is the extent of my entire Fiverr experience. Yet as a writer I still enjoyed Tom McCauley’s experiment reported in Silicon Prairie News, which outsourced company SEO blog work to two Fiverr contractors who charged $7 and $105. “If you’re fine with just putting out random content only tangentially related to your industry, then Fiverr might work,” McCauley summarizes.
