That’s why this Fast Company article caught my eye about an innovative concept for a “wind wall” that has been prototyped by designer and entrepreneur Joe Doucet. The new type of wind turbine can hide in plain sight while producing energy for a home or business. I could imagine something like this along the Principal Riverwalk or in other public places. Doucet is also looking into the feasibility of cladding buildings with these wind walls. Whether to allow this type of wall in residential areas would be an interesting question for a city council to take on, that’s for sure.
